The
Pike and Calhoun County area offers
some of the best turkey hunting
in Illinois. Pike and Calhoun
counties are located between the
Illinois and Mississippi Rivers
and provide an excellent habitat
for the Eastern subspecies of
the wild turkey. With hardwood
timber, abundant crop fields and
plenty of hill country, the area
holds a large number of Eastern
gobblers.
The
Illinois Turkey season consists
of five separate seasons beginning
around mid-April and ending each
year around mid-May.
Bighorn
Turkey hunts consist of 3 day
hunts - both guided and unguided.
Lodging is included with our Turkey
hunts.
Bighorn
guides are all seasoned turkey
hunters that are familiar with
our flock and the areas in which
you will be hunting. Our guides
are dedicated to assisting in
your success at taking an Illinois
Eastern gobbler. If you choose
to pursue the unguided hunt, you
will be placed in an area that
holds a good number of birds and
can enjoy roosting, calling and
harvesting a gobbler using your
own skills.
